Every plant will need extra feeding at some point. The choice in plant nutrients, additives and boosters is enormous. There is a product on the market for every medium and every phase in the plant life.
The most important thing is to make sure you give your plants the right amount of nutrients at the right time. There are two main life stages for fast-growing plants. For example, the vegetative stage (18/6) the plants require more nitrogen to keep them green and help them grow taller. Whereas the flowering stage (12/12) they need more phosphorus to aid in flower development. Luckily, many nutrient companies make great products even though they’re all using different formulas and techniques.
The different brands of plant nutrients offered by us consist of two components. One component that should be used during the vegetative stage of your plants (during the 18/6 period + the first 10 days of the 12/12 period).
The second component contains all the nutrients your plants need during its flowering stage (12/12).
Soil or Hydro – it’s really important to match your growing medium with your nutrients. “Soil” nutrients are different from “Hydroponic” nutrients so make sure you’re getting the right kind! Coco coir is generally considered a type of hydroponics when it comes to nutrients, and there are also nutrients specifically designed for coco coir.
All the different brands are perfect for use in our irrigation systems (Flow Hydroponics, Automatic irrigation and Blumat). But if you prefer watering by hand this is fine too.
